Construction of New High School Well Underway

(Picture of New Gym Under Construction)

We would like to thank the following alums that have generously donated to the High School Addition project.

After many years of planning, designing, fundraising and praying, construction of an addition for St. Anthony High School has begun.  Bishop Lucas signed the contract in April 2002 allowing the process to begin.

Swinger Construction Company, awarded the contract for the general construction of the facility in the amount of $4,572,000, reports that the project is progressing according to plan.  Much of the planned work within the existing high school facility has been completed including asbestos removal, new ceiling tiles, enlarged computer room, new carpeting, entrance to new addition and new cabinets, shelves and closets.  The students and staff have adapted well as this construction continues during the school year.

The new facility is now taking shape with the structure enclosed allowing interior work to continue during inclement weather.  Much of the block and brick work, plumbing, electrical and HVAC installation has begun.  Two of three homes purchased adjacent to the school have been relocated and the other home has been demolished.

Stay tuned for future updates.
