Eucharistic Minsters

The function of this ministry is to help distribute the Eucharist under both the forms of bread and wine in a reverent manner. To be a Eucharistic Minister, an individual must be approved by the bishop and participate in the appropriate training sessions and periodic enrichment experiences.

Ushers greet people warmly as they arrive for liturgy; seat them as needed, except during the readings; invite poeple to bring up the offertory gifts, if needed; take up the collections; distribute the bulletins and make sure the pews and missalettes are neat after the Liturgy. They also assist anyone who may need it during the Liturgy.

Parish School of Religion

Through formal education and by their example, catechists aid parents in bringing their children into a fuller understanding of our Catholic Faith. Classes are held throughout the school year.

Pre-Cana

Married couples from the parish help engaged couples prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony. Once or twice a year a Pre-Cana Day is held on a Sunday, during which married couples share various aspects of their married life for the benefit of the engaged couples.

Building & Grounds

The main function of this group is to keep the grounds looking their best and communicate problems or issues with the parish office. The responsiblities are to participate and recruit volunteers to assist in grounds-keeping.

Funeral Mass Servers/Doorkeepers

As a service to the family who is grieving, our parish provides servers and doorkeepers, if needed, for the funeral Mass. Many retired parishioners assist during the year.

Affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women, this organization is involved in many aspects of parish life for women and families. They are dedicated to spirituality, education, leadership, and service.

Art and Environment

The Art & Environment Committee provides for a worship space conducive to the prayer and praise of our community. This group consists of a core group of staff members and a large group of volunteers who help with special projects and decorations for the major liturgical seasons.

Radio Mass Recorders

The Saturday Mass is recorded for replay on Sunday morning. This group makes sure it is a successful recording and delivers the CD to the radio station.

Collection Counters

Approved volunteers work in assigned teams to count and prepare the deposit of Sunday and other church collections. Teams are assigned a specific Sunday every month.

Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee acts as the consulative body to the pastor regarding the ongoing stewardship process in the parish. It engages in reading and discussions on the meaning of stewardship in our lives, Members act as models of stewardship for other parishioners by engaging in a life that is committed to the Eucharist, prayer, service, and ongoing formation.

Church Cleaners Coordinators

The church cleaners ensure the church is ready for weekend liturgical celebrations by cleaning it on a weekly basis. They clean the sanctuary and sacristy and wipe the pews, to name just a few of their "chores."

Beginning in fifth grade, students are able to be servers for Mass if they are willing to be trained.

Marketing

In response to an expressed need to enhance the marketing efforts for the parish and schools, a marketing team has organized and several parishioners with marketing experience have joined the team. Members are continually added to allow parishioners with an interest, or who are recommended, to participate.

Picnic Chairs

The primary function of this group is to plan the Parish's annual picnic. The responsibilities are to participate and recruit volunteers to assist in the various game and food booths and other jobs related to the picnic, including the grand prize and other raffles. Bereavement Support Group

This group extends care and the concern of the parish community to the grieving family by praying for them, periodic communication or visit, and invitation to the annual memorial Eucharist held in November. Also, the Bereavement Support Group provides presence in a support group twice a month.

Ministry of Care

Dedicated, spiritual, caring, and prayerful persons bring the Eucharist to those in failing health, whether homebound, in nursing homes, or the hospital while comforting, supporting, and serving the family.

Ministry of Praise and Prayer

Invites the sick, handicapped and homebound, all of us to offer our prayers, sacrifices, sufferings, and joys to God for the parish of St. Anthony and community, for vocations to the priesthood and religious life, for our children and family life, for peace in our world and church. Moms in Touch

A small group of moms that meets weekly during the school year to pray and intercede for our children, students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators, volunteers, and donors for St. Anthony Parish School. Moms in Touch currently meets on Saturday morning from 7-7:30 A.M. This group is flexible, and individuals may participate as little or as often as they like. Rosary Ministry

Meet with residents in care facilities to pray the Rosary and be present to them in love, compassion, and prayer.

St. Anthony Mom's Ministry

Our mission is to lead moms into a deeper faith while helping them in their vocation as wife and/or mother to build stronger Catholic families. This ministry welcomes moms who still have children in their care as well as future moms. Moms, both Catholic and non-Catholic, are welcome to attend. During monthly meetings members pray, educate themselves in the Catholic Faith, and share their family life with each other. The ministry meets on the third Wednesday of the month in the St. Anthony High School Chapel and Library from 8-10 P.M.

Open/Close Parish Center

Faciliting the use of the parish center by parishioners, this group volunteers to open, close, and explain parish center use, after office hours and on weekends and holidays.
