Boys Golf State Champions

 

  The St. Anthony High School Boys Golf Team battled the elements and came away with the school's 4th IHSA State Boys Golf Championship.  The team weathered a snow cancellation on Friday but then came out in the cold on Saturday to shoot a 318 team score to claim the Campionship.  The team played even par over the final four holes to finish 6 strokes ahead of second place Port Byron.  Senior, Luke Ludwig led the way with a 76 which also placed him third individually.  Senior, Ben Strullmyer finished with a 79 to also place in the top 10 with fellow Senior, Nathan Schultz finishing with an 80 to narrowly miss a medal.  Junior, Jayden Rios rounded out the Bulldogs scoring with an 83.  Other members of the team were Senior, Zach Wortman (84) and Junior, Luke Flaig (97).  This was Coach Phil Zaccari's 20th season at the helm.  His teams have made it to the state finals 16 times winning 4 times and placing second twice.  Congratulations Bulldogs!!!
