• Fundraisers

-          Trivia Night – waiting on notification of profit from Fellowship Cmte

-          Fish Fry

§         $522 advance sale profits

§         $1098 profit from tickets sold at door.

§         Total $1,620 profit

§         666 tickets sold

-          Cardinal/Phillies Ticket Raffle,

§         Pre-Sold $1,724; $188 sold at Fish Fry; $1,912 total

§         Winner was Matt Pals.  Coordinating presentation of tickets.

-          Fun Nights/Summer Breakfast?

§         Discussed holding summer breakfast to help raise money for high school band and chorus trip to music competition in Florida .  Laura will contact Ms. Larimer and Fr. Leo to get approval.

§         Discussed having a “Kids Night Out” during the summer to also raise funds for band/chorus trip.  Post-poned discussion for now.  Didn’t want to overwhelm parents and students with fundraisers.

-          Theatre Production – Ron Willenborg

§         Ron proposed hosting a Chicago-based theatre production of “Put The Nuns In Charge” which is a spin-off of “Late Nite Catechism”.  Cost is $2500 minimum and $10 for each ticket sold over 250 tickets.  Plan to charge $20 per ticket.  Tentative date is Sunday, November 11^th at 2:00 p.m. to be held in MPR.  Room is already tentatively booked.  Vote was taken and approval given for Ron to proceed.  Ron to follow up with Fr. • Band/Chorus Trip
• Laura will begin working with music festival tour group the first week of June once this year’s music festival season is over.  2008 rates will not be available until then.
• Sporting events are scheduled for the date of the trip (girls softball, boys baseball, boys tennis).  Laura spoke with Mike Hoene and he verified that this trip takes precedence over regular season games and no penalties would be applied to athletes who attend the band/chorus competition trip.  Laura will emphasize this at the next Parent Meeting.
• Parent Meeting to be scheduled for May.  All SAMBA members present agreed that because we need the majority of band/chorus members to participate, we need to get a deposit and signed commitment letter up front to help eliminate last minute cancellations.  Will also set up a payment schedule for those who cannot or choose not to raise money through fundraisers.
• $ in Band Trip Accounts – Currently $6,500 in student’s trip accounts. Does not include funds from Triva Night.  One student has over $750 in account.  We have many with $0.
• Sweatshirt Order
• Sweatshirts are in.  Michele Dallmier to distribute.
• Grace School Activities
• Little Theatre on the Square - $5 each 5^th grade only $205 + $70 bus; Wed Apr 18^th 9:30 a.m. performance, 70 minutes.
• Spring Concerts/Awards Night
• Recognitions will continue to be given at Spring Concerts.  Concert should take about an hour but will be a very full program.  Laura Connerly to meet with Gary Dempsey to make sure all awards are taken care of.

New Business

• Summer Band Camp / Drumline Camp
• Mr. Dempsey received estimates for holding a band camp and drumline camp this summer.  Looking to coordinate something with Altamont High School .  More info at next meeting.  Tentative date is July 30 – August 3.
• Officer Nominations/Elections
• Nominations and elections held for 2007-2008 SAMBA officers.  Michele Dallmier elected President.  Laura Connerly elected Vice President.  Shari Goldstein elected Secretary.  Kate Bilbrey elected Treasurer.  Ron Willenborg volunteered to be timekeeper.
• Bylaws are being reviewed and recommendations for changes will be made at May meeting.
• Committee Assignments for 2007-2008 – 15 min (8:04)

• Expense Reimbursement
• Voted and approved expense reimbursement for Mrs. Whitlatch and Megan McDevitt for 2 day trip for Megan to participate in IEMA State Honors Choir.  Discussed need to set up guidelines for this type of thing in the future since it can be quite costly.
• 2007/2008 Music Department Needs
• Music department directors will provide needs for next school year to Laura Connerly by April 15^th.  Ron Willenborg suggested putting together a presentation for the Knights of Columbus to see if they might be able to help us out with any of these larger purchases (i.e. musical instruments, sound system improvements, textbooks, etc.)

• Sr. Cordula – Inquired abaout results of Solo-Ensemble contest for both grade school and high school..
• Mrs. Whitlatch – Provided results of Sole-Ensemble contest for chorus participants.
• Mr. Dempsey – Provided results of Solo-Ensemble contest for band participants.
• Mrs. Konrad – No update.

Set date for next meeting – Due to Grade School Spring Concert being held on the first Monday of May, we will hold our next SAMBA meeting on Monday, April 30^th at 6:30 p.m. in the High School band room.
