Welcome to Mrs. Lipka's Homepage

In history this year we will study the Civil War, World War I, the Great Depression, the Holocaust, World War II, and the Civil Rights Movement.  Late in the year we turn our attention to the Illinois Constitution.  I hope this year peaks your interest in history and that you will continue to want to learn more about our past.

In Geography this year along with studying several countries you will draw a map of the world.  This map takes us all year long as we only do the countries we are studying at the time.  It is my hope that this helps you identify where in the world (no pun intended) different countries are located.  We study the United States, Canada, Central and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, and Australia and Oceania.

Current Events is another part of Geography.  The eighth grade students must have a current event every Friday.  This is discussed in the page I sent home the first day of class.

If ever you need my assistance please do not be afraid to ask.  I am at school most mornings by 7:00 a.m. or you usually can find me in my room during 8th or 9th hour.  I can be contacted by e-mail at rlip@stanthony.com.    If needed you may call me at home.  My phone number is 348-1447.
